KAHIT dis-oras ng gabi, napasugod sa Batasang Pambansa Complex si Vice President Sara Duterte bunsod ng sumbong ni Atty. Zuleika Lopez sa direktiba ng Kamara na ilipat siya sa Women’s Correctional Institution sa Mandaluyong City.
Sa isang press conference via Zoom, ikinuwento ni Lopez nang pumasok sa detention facility ng Kamara ang hindi bababa sa siyam na indibidwal sa pamumuno ni House Sergeant-at-Arms Napoleon Taas para sa aniya’y implementasyon ng utos ni Manila Rep. Joel Chua na tumatayong chairman ng Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
”I said, ‘I’m not going anywhere. I need my lawyers now.’ And then they said, ‘there is no need for a lawyer because we are just doing our job to serve it,”’ wika ni Lopez, kasabay ng giit sa umiiral na batas na nagbibigay karapatan sa mga detenido.
”I have my rights as a detainee in this facility. Respect that and then I told them to go out.”
Tugon aniya ni Taas — hindi na kailangan ng isang abogado dahil sumusunod lamang umano siya sa utos ng komite. Dito na aniya siya nagpasya na tumawag ng abogado – si Vice President Sara Duterte.
”And then, I called the Vice President and after a while she came.”
Kinuwestyon ni Lopez ang paglabas ng komite ng transfer order bago pa man pagpasyahan ang motion for reconsideration na isinumite sa Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.
“On a Friday, when there is no office business at the House of Representatives, they issued an order transferring me and suddenly they served it in the middle of the night. What does that tell you?” aniya.
”They bring nine, 10 people to serve the transfer order in the middle of the night in your pajamas. This is a threat to my life. It’s not harassment,” dugtong pa ng chief of staff ng Office of the Vice President.
”Wala nang batas sa bansang ito!”
Samantala, kinondena ni Duterte ang kawalan umano ng respeto ng administrasyon sa umiiral na batas, sabay patutsada kina House Speaker Martin Romualdez, Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. at First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos.
”They make rules as they go along? Whatever pleases the Speaker? This country is going to hell because we are led by a person who doesn’t know how to be a president and who is a liar,” wika ng pangalawang pangulo.
“P__ina ninyong lahat. Martin Romualdez, Liza Marcos, Bongbong Marcos,” dagdag ng bise presidente.
Pagkatapos ng Zoom press conference, agad na isinugod sa Veterans Memorial Medical Center sa Quezon City si Lopez matapos magsuka at mawalan ng malay.
“Nagsuka siya nang nagsuka tapos nag collapse,” ani Duterte sa panayam sa GMA News.
Bago pa man ang naturang insidente, na-cite in contempt si Lopez dahil sa pag-iwas sagutin ang katanungan ng mga kongresista sa pagdinig ng Kamara kaugnay ng P612-million confidential funds ni inilaan ng kongreso sa OVP at maging sa Department of Education (DepEd) na dating hawak ni VP Sara.
