NANINIWALA si House Deputy Majority Leader at Iloilo 3rd District Rep. Lorenz Defensor na seryoso ang naging pahayag ni Vice President Sara Duterte na meron siyang kinausap para patayin si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., gayundin sina Unang Ginang Liza Araneta-Marcos, at House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
Ani Defensor, isa sa mga impeachment prosecutor, maituturing na isang mabigat na krimen, na naglalagay din sa panganib sa pambansang seguridad ang pagsisiwalat ng bise-presidente.
“Hiring or even suggesting the hiring of an assassin is not just reckless rhetoric; it is a high crime that threatens the very foundations of our Republic,” diin ng Iloilo lawmaker.
“It is an attack not just on the individuals named but, on the institutions, they represent, especially the Office of the President, which is at the core of our government and national security framework,” dagdag pa niya.
Giit ni Defensor, ang Pangulo ng Pilipinas ay siyang Commander-in-Chief ng Sandatahang Lakas, ang pinakamataas na awtoridad sa militar ng bansa, kaya’t ang kanyang kaligtasan at seguridad ay usaping may pambansang interes.
“A crime against the President is not merely a personal offense; it is a crime against the Filipino people and a direct assault on national security,” dugtong pa ng solon.
“Any attempt, suggestion, or conspiracy to harm the Commander-in-Chief creates instability, weakens public trust, and emboldens elements that wish to destabilize our government,” aniya pa.
Ipinaliwanag din ni Defensor na ang Bise Presidente, bilang isang mataas na opisyal ng gobyerno, ay may pananagutan tuparin ang sinumpaang tungkulin na ipagtanggol ang Konstitusyon.
Babala ni Defensor, ang pahayag hinggil sa assassination order ay may kaakibat na mga paglabag, kabilang na ang pakikipagsabwatan sa pagpaslang, pag-udyok sa rebelyon, at matinding pagbabanta, na pawang may kaukulang parusa sa ilalim ng Revised Penal Code.
“This is not just about impeachment; this is a matter of law enforcement. Threatening or conspiring to harm the President is a serious crime that demands immediate investigation and accountability.”
Samantala, sinopla nina House Assistant Majority Leaders Pammy Zamora ng Taguig City, Zia Alonto Adiong ng Lanao del Sur, at Jay Khonghun ng Zambales si VP Sara sa pagtanggi na tinurang banta sa buhay ng Pangulo.
Ikinabahala nina Zamora, Adiong, at Khonghun, mga lider ng Young Guns sa Kamara, ang pagtanggi ni Duterte sa kanyang mga sinabi sa isang online press conference na mayroon siyang kinausap na papatay kina Pangulong Marcos, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, at Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez sa sandaling may mangyari sa kanya.
“May kinausap na ako na tao. Sinabi ko sa kanya, Pag pinatay ako, patayin mo si BBM, si Liza Araneta, at si Martin Romualdez. No joke. No joke,” sabi ni Duterte sa naturang press conference. Nagviral sa social media ang naturang video.
Sa isang press conference naman noong Biyernes, itinanggi ni Duterte na pinagbantaan niya ang Pangulo. “I did not make an assassination threat to the President. Sila lang nagsasabi niyan. Sila lang nagsasabing may assassination, may assassin, may gunman. I did not say that,” sabi niya.
Ayon kay Zamora, ang biglaang pagbaliktad ni Duterte ay isang desperado at baluktot na pagtatangkang burahin sa isip ng publiko ang mga binitawang salita.
“VP Sara Duterte cannot lie her way out of this,” ayon kay Zamora. “Her own words prove that she talked to someone, an assassin or a hitman, and ordered the killing of the President, the First Lady, and the Speaker of the House if anything happened to her. That is a direct admission of a criminal conspiracy, and now she wants to pretend she never said it?”
Para naman kay Adiong, ang mga pahayag ni Duterte ay dapat tingnan bilang seryosong banta sa pambansang seguridad at nangangailangan ng agarang imbestigasyon dahil marami ring dapat sagutin ang huli.
Hiniling ni Khonghun sa National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) na pabilisin ang imbestigasyon sa kaso, kasabay ng diin na ang mga banta laban sa Pangulo ay isang seryosong usapin at isang mahalagang isyu ng pambansang seguridad.
“We are talking about the Vice President of the Philippines saying she ordered a hit on the President, the First Lady, and the Speaker. If this were anyone else, they would already be in handcuffs,” ayon kay Khonghun.
“The Filipino people deserve answers. VP Sara Duterte must not be allowed to get away with lying to the public and evading responsibility. Her statements are not just reckless, they are dangerous, and she must be held accountable.” (ROMEO ALLAN BUTUYAN II)
