TULAD ng iba pang mataas na opisyal ng pamahalaan, obligasyon ni Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio na dumalo at pakinggan ang ikaapat na State of the Nation Address (SONA) ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. sa Hulyo 28.
Ito ang binigyan-diin ni House spokesperson Atty. Princess Abante kasabay ng pagtitiyak na handa ang liderato ng Kamara na tanggapin at asikasuhin ang bise-presidente sakaling magbago ang isip ni Duterte — at dumating sa Batasan Complex para sa SONA ng Pangulo.
“Ready naman po ang House of Representatives to welcome all officials of the government to attend the SONA,” wika ni Abante sa isang pulong-balitaan sa Batasan.
“Especially bilang isang Vice President, dapat din kasama sa kanyang tungkulin na makinig sa magiging report ng ating Presidente. The House of Representatives is ready to welcome for her to attend and listen to the report of the President,” dagdag pa niya.
Una nang kinumpirma ni House Secretary General Reginald Velasco ang pagtanggap sa liham mula sa Office of the Vice President (OVP) na nagsasabing hindi dadalo, sa ikalawang magkasunod na pagkakataon si Duterte sa SONA.
Sa naturang liham, wala umanong binanggit na dahilan sa gagawing pagliban sa SONA ng bise presidente subalit sa kabila nito ay ipinabatid ni Velasco na tuloy pa rin ang paghahanda ng Kamara para sa pagdating ng una kabilang ang pagtatalaga ng holding room at upuan sa plenary hall.
Sinabi naman ni Abante na 90% hanggang 95% ready na ang Batasan Complex para sa 2025 SONA
“Just some matters na lang na kailangan i-check. I think in a while the inter-agency delegation will have a walkthrough in the House of Representatives. But other than that, we are all set,” ayon pa sa House spokesperson.
“Sa ngayon, tuloy-tuloy pa rin ‘yung preparations natin. Hindi naman siya naantala. Of course, we will keep on monitoring ‘yung developments ng ating panahon sa mga susunod na araw. Pero as of today, tuloy-tuloy at wala namang disruption sa mga preparations,” dugtong ng tagapagsalita ng Kamara.
Sakali namang sumama ang panahon sa araw ng SONA, tiniyak ni Abante na may contingency plans na ilatatag sa Kamara at hindi naman din aniya napag-uusapan na kanselahin ang mahalagang okasyon kung sakali man.
“Of course, there will always be adjustments on various situations or concerns, but just the same, the security group is all prepared for next week’s SONA,” saad ni Abante.
“We are looking forward to the President’s report to the country. And we are inviting everyone to stay tuned in the different media outlets and social media accounts so that all of us will hear what the President will report as to the developments of our country and what we will be expecting in the next coming months.” (ROMEO ALLAN BUTUYAN II)
