MATAPOS na mabistong walang Mary Grace Piattos at Kokoy Villamin sa database ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), hiniling ng tinaguriang House Blue Ribbon Committee sa nasabing ahensya na silipin din ang nasa 677 pang mga pangalan na sinasabing mga nakatanggap ng aabot sa kabuuang daang milyong halaga ng confidential funds ng Office of the Vice President (OVP) at Department of Education (DepEd).
“May we request for the verification of the Civil Registry Documents (birth, marriage, and death) of the names in the attached list relative to the investigation being conducted by the Committee,” saad ni Manila 3rd District Rep. Joel Chua na tumatayong chairman ng blue ribbon sa kanyang liham kay National Statistician Claire Dennis Mapa.
Target ni Chua panagutin ang mga kapural sa likod ng aniya’y malinaw na paglustay ng hindi bababa sa P612.5 milyong pondo mula sa dugo’t pawis ng mga Pinoy taxpayers.
Kabilang sa nasilip ng komite ang pagsusumite ng OVP at DepEd ng liquidation report sa Commission on Audit (COA) ng mga acknowledgement receipts (ARs) kung saan kabilang sa mga pumirma ay sina Piattos at Villamin.
Kalaunan, nabistong walang anumang record sa PSA ang mga nagngangalang Mary Grace Piattos at Kokoy Villamin.
“This is deeply troubling. If Mary Grace Piattos doesn’t exist in official records, we have to question whether the other 677 names are legitimate or if they are part of a wider scheme to misuse funds,” himutok ni Chua.
“If even one peso was spent improperly, it is our responsibility to find out and hold those responsible to account,” diin ng Manila solon.
Napuna rin ng mga kongresista sa isinumiteng ARs ng OVP at DepEd ang halos pagkakahalintulad ng sulat-kamay at maging ng tintang ginamit sa pagsulat o pagpirma sa nasabing dokumento.
