NAMUMURO matanggal sa serbisyo ang tatlong pulis na nanakit sa isang peryodista habang nag-uulat ng mga kaganapan sa isinagawang protesta ng mga magsasaka sa harap ng tanggapan ng Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) sa Quezon City. Sa isang kalatas, kinumpirma ng National Police Commission (Napolcom) ang pagsasampa ng motu proprio administrative complaint laban tatlong pulis na sinasabing nanakit kay Aaron Ernest Cruz, isang intern mula sa Altermidya Network, at isang community journalist mula sa TUDLA Productions. Nangyari ang insidente ng karahasan noong Oktubre 16 sa tapat ng DAR Central Office sa kahabaan ng Elliptical Road sa Quezon City. “Media workers must be able to perform their duties safely and without fear of violence or intimidation,” wika ni Napolcom Executive Officer Atty. Rafael Vicente Calinisan “We expect our police officers to exercise their authority with strict professionalism, restraint, and utmost respect for human rights.
