GINAWANG pulutan ng mga netizens ang isang kongresista hinggil sa nalalapit na engrandeng pagdiriwang ng kanyang kaarawan.
Sa isang social media post, walang partikular na pagkakakilanlan ang binatikos na congressman, subalit ayon sa mga netizens mula sa rehiyon ng Bicolandia, tanging si Albay Rep. Joey Salceda lang ang kongresistang may nalalapit na kaarawan.
“A very sad thing is happening now in the province of Albay. One of the congressmen there is having his birthday on Saturday,” saad sa social media post.
“The sad thing is that most of the government agencies now are participating in singing and dancing to present on congressman’s mañanita of congressman on Saturday instead of focusing on rescue and helping the public that were affected by the Typhoon Kristine,” dagdag ng netizen.
Matapos magviral ang social media post, naglabas ng pahayag si Salceda. Aniya, kanselado na ang birthday party na nakatakda sanang idaos sa Sabado, Oktubre 26.
“I personally want to address the concerns and misinformation circulating regarding a supposed event for the congressman. This is not true. The concert and other festivities have been canceled to focus all funds and efforts on the ongoing typhoon response operations for Typhoon Kristine,” wika ni Salceda na kandidato para gobernador ng Albay sa nalalapit na halalan sa Mayo ng susunod na taon.
“We have been in constant coordination with uniformed agencies since the start of the typhoon, ensuring that all efforts are directed towards helping affected families. This has been a priority from the beginning of the storm up to now, as we continue with the rehabilitation and response phase. In fact, the congressman himself ordered that all celebrations be set aside, given the current state of calamity in Albay,” aniya pa.
