MALAKI ang potensyal ng mga atletang nasa kanayunan, ayon kay House Speaker Martin Romualdez, matapos masungkit ni Leyte-native Chrisia Mae Tajarros ang kauna-unahang gintong medalya sa 2025 Palarong Pambansa na ginaganap sa Ilocos Norte.
Para kay Romualdez, malinaw na may kinabukasan ang mga kabataan sa tinawag niyang “grassroots sports development.”
“At just 13 years old, Chrisia Mae has shown the heart of a true champion. Her victory in the 3,000-meter run is a story of redemption, perseverance, and unshakable determination. Coming from last year’s second-place finish, she returned stronger – wiser, faster, and more focused,” malugod na pahayag ng lider ng Kamara.
Ayon kay Romualdez, ang kahanga-hangang tagumpay ni Chrisia Mae, isang estudyante ng Tanauan National High School at atleta ng Leyte Sports Academy, ay nagpapakita na maaaring makamit ng mga kabataan ang tagumpay sa bisa ng grassroots sports development ng gobyerno.
“Her success is a testament to what we can achieve when we invest in our young athletes,” giit ng Leyte solon.
Para kay Romualdez, hindi lang Leyte ang lubos na nagagalak sa natamong tagumpay kundi aniya ang buong bansa, kasabay ng giit na hindi lang sa medalya nasusukat ang galing ng isang atleta kundi sa tiyaga at matatag na determinasyon malampasan ang mga kinakaharap na hamon.
