TIWALA si House Senior Deputy Minority Leader at Mamamayang Liberal (ML) partylist Rep. Leila De Lima na sapat dahilan para ganap na sipain sa pwesto si Vice President Sara Duterte.
Bukod pa sa impeachment, kumbinsido rin si De Lima na hindi na makakatakbo si Duterte bilang pangulo sa 2028 lalo pa’t karaniwan aniyang bahagi ng hatol ang perpetual disqualification sa anumang posisyon sa gobyerno.
Ayon kay De Lima, isa lang sa apat na Articles of Impeachment ang tumindig sa Senate impeachment trial, tapos na ang political career ng pangalawang pangulo.
“So apat po yung Articles of Impeachment na na-approve as amended. Number one, misuse or abuse of confidential funds. Pangalawa, unexplained wealth,” bungad ni De Lima.
“Several subheadings po yan, dagdag pa yung failure to divest her interest in business,” dugtong ng partylist solon.
“And then ang pangatlo po yung bribery and graft and corruption, sa DepEd and then pang apat po yung threats ni plot to assassinate the President, the First Lady and the House Speaker,” aniya pa.
Ayon kay De Lima, nakatakda nang isumite sa plenaryo ang apat na Articles of Impeachment. Sa sandaling pagtibayin ng Kamara, agad na ipapasa sa Senado na tatayong impeachment court.
“So a total of four articles ang itratransmit muna sa plenary for the plenary’s approval. At pag ma-approve po yun, yun na rin po ang papadala sa Senado,” paliwanag pa ni De Lima.
Aniya, isa sa substantive correction sa committee report ang unexplained wealth article kung saan nabigong magdivest ang bise presidente sa business interest sa pribadong kumpanya.
“Kasi sa Constitution po malinaw po iyan na kapag nakaupo ka as President, Vice President, Cabinet Members, etc. ay kailangan wala kang participation in any business,” ani De Lima.
“Meron pong company na nakita natin sa mga SEC records, yung Metro Chow company or Corporation na nandun pa rin siya as shareholder and also as member of the board of directors,” dagdag niya.
Wala namang nakikitang problema si De Lima sa paglimita sa apat na articles ang reklamo laban kay Duterte.
“Pag makarating na po ito sa Senado at magkaroon na po ng trial at during the judgment ng mga judges of the impeachment court kahit isa lang pong article ang ma-uphold nila at ma-convict si VP Sara, that should be enough to really convict her and then to remove her from office and to permanently disqualify her to hold further public office.”
