SA kabila ng paninindigan walang papanigan sa hidwaan ng dalawang pinakamataas na opisyal ng bansa, hindi pa rin nakalusot sa batikos at pangungutya ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), pag-amin ng tagapagsalita ng sandatahang lakas ng bansa.
Sa isang pahayag na inilabas ni Colonel Xerxes Trinidad na tumatayong hepe ng AFP public affairs office, pansamantalang pinaralisa ang “comment section” ng official Facebook page ng AFP bilang tugon sa aniya’y “suspicious activities” mula sa mga troll accounts sa social media.
“We are temporarily disabling features on our official Facebook page to deny trolls a platform for their suspicious activities,” wika ni Trinidad.
“Troll farms are a menace to society and we choose not to empower inauthentic actors in their coordinated attempt to spread disinformation and mal-information,” dugtong ng koronel, kasabay ng paghingi na unawa sa mga lehitimong followers ng sandatahang lakas.
“We call on everyone to report malicious activities online and receive information from reputable sources only,” panawagan pa ni Trinidad.
Bago isinara ang comment section, binaha ang AFP Facebook page ng mga hashtag na “#ProtectThePeo-ple” at “#ProtectTheConstitution.”
Araw ng Martes nang maglabas ng official statement ang AFP — hindi makikialam sa mga isyung politikal matapos manawagan si former President Rodrigo Duterte sa hanay ng militar na maglunsad ng kudeta laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
“Ang ini-emphasize natin dito, the AFP is a non-partisan organization. As our [Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr.] has already stated, our Armed Forces is united and professional.”
