WALANG napigang impormasyon ang Senado sa dalawang Kalihim na isinalamg sa pagdinig kaugnay ng pag-aresto kay former President Rodrigo Duterte.
Sa isang pulong-balitaan, inamin ni Senate President Francis Escudero na ginamit nina Justice Secretary Crispin Remulla at kapatid niyang si Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla ang tinatawag na executive privilege.
Ayon kay Escudero, nagbigay ng abiso ang Palasyo hinggil sa executive privilege ng executive branch.
“They simply cited the Supreme Court decision that held executive privilege to be validly invoked by the executive branch,” wika nb Senate chief.
“But to be invoked whenever a question is asked that would tend to divulge in any conversations with the president himself. And that was exactly what happened in the hearing,” dagdag pa niya.
Sa naturang pagdinig, kapawa tikom ang bibig ng magkapatid na Remulla sa mga tanong ni Senador Imee Marcos.
