TAOS-PUSONG pinasalamatan ni House Speaker Martin G. Romualdez pinasalamatan ang liderato ng United Arab Emirates (UAE) sa pagbibigay ng royal clemency sa 115 Pilipino.
Para kay Romualdez, ang clemency na iginawad ng mga Pinoy ay isang patsunay ng matibay na ugnayan sa pagitan ng Pilipinas ng ng naturang bansa.
Ipinaabot ni Romualdez ang pasasalamat ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso at ng buong sambayanang Pilipino kina His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Pangulo ng UAE, at His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Pangalawang Pangulo at Punong Ministro ng UAE, sa pagpapatawad sa mga nagkasalang Pilipino ngayong panahon ng Ramadan at nalalapit na Eid Al-Fitr.
“This singular act of compassion is a powerful expression of the UAE’s enduring commitment to justice tempered by mercy. It reflects the strength of humanitarian values that lie at the heart of Islam, and the magnanimity of a leadership that extends forgiveness and hope in a time of spiritual renewal,” wika ni Romualdez.
Dagdag niya, ang pagpapatawad ay hindi lamang nagdudulot ng ginhawa sa mga napalaya kundi nagbibigay rin ng pag-asa sa kanilang mga pamilyang nanabik sa kanilang pagbabalik.
“We Filipinos will not forget this gesture of goodwill. It brings comfort and healing not only to those who have been granted clemency, but to their families and loved ones back home who now look forward to reunion and redemption. It is a gesture that restores dignity and reaffirms our shared belief in second chances,” dagdag ni Romualdez.
Kumbinsido rin ang lider ng Kamara na ang nasabing hakbang ay senyales ng mas matibay at pangmatagalang pagkakaibigan sa pagitan ng dalawang bansa.
“This act also strengthens the abiding friendship between the Philippines and the United Arab Emirates—one built over decades of mutual respect, cooperation, and solidarity,” aniya.
Ipinunto rin ng lider ng Kamara na nananatiling mabuting host ang UAE sa mahigit kalahating milyong Pinoy may hindi matatawarang ambag sa ekonomiya at lipunan sa Middle East.
“The UAE has long been a gracious host to over half a million Filipinos who contribute meaningfully to your society and economy. Your continued support for their welfare, rights, and dignity speaks volumes of the values that bind our two nations,” giit ni Romualdez.
Sa huli, ipinahayag niya ang pag-asang ang ginawad na clemency ng UAE ay magsilbing inspirasyon sa iba upang piliin ang kapayapaan, kabutihan, at habag, lalo na sa panahon ng spiritual reflection.
“As we mark this season of reflection and unity, may this act of clemency inspire us all to pursue peace, extend kindness, and affirm our common humanity,” saad ng Leyte solon.
