“I SEE the hard work that she puts in, her integrity and her love for her work.” Ito ang paglalarawan ni House Appropriations Committee Chairperson Rep. Mikaela Angela Suansing kaugnay ng panawagan ng minorya kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na sibakin sa pwesto si Budget Secretary Amenah Pangandaman.
“I have the greatest respect for Sec. Amenah Pangandaman, I have work very closely with her, I have always seen her as best economist I’ve work with,” bungad ni Suansing nang hingan ng reaksyon sa hirit ni Senior Deputy Minority Leader Egay Erice (Caloocan City 2nd District) laban sa DBM chief.
Bukod aniya kay Secretary Pangandaman, mataas din ang umano ang kanyang respeto sa lahat ng bumubuo sa DBM.
“Sa totoo lang po, para sa kaalaman ng lahat, ito pong usapin tungkol sa unprogrammed appropriations. Lalo na po nung naging mainit na usapin po ito sa social media at iba pa. Talaga pong nag-uusap kami na paano ba natin pwedeng ayusin itong unprogrammed appropriations,” pag-amin ni Suansing.
“And honestly, when we were doing all of those discussions and even during the plenary deliberations when members of the minority would have specific suggestions particularly towards lump sum funds, UA, even in terms of the general provisions, makikita ko po.” dugtong ng Nueva Ecija lawmaker.
“They have a lot of transparency measures as well. So even with the recognition that there might have been instances in the past wherein certain guidelines would need to be reinforced or amended, nakikita ko yung sinseridad sa ating mga kasama sa DBM na gusto talaga nilang ayusin yung proseso,” aniya.
Panghuli matapos ang mga binitiwang pahayag na ito Suansing, ay iginiit sa kanya kung dapat bang manatili si Pangandaman bilang DBM secretary, ang matigas na sabi niya ay “So, yes, I firmly believe that Secretary Amenah Pangandaman should stay.” (ROMER R. BUTUYAN)
