
HIGIT sa 135 barko ng Chinese Maritime Militia (CMM) ang nakita sa Julian Felipe Reef na nasa loob ng Philippine area of responsibility, ayon sa Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) ngayong Linggo.
Sa kalatas, sinabi ng PCG na ang CMM vessels ay unang naitala sa 125, tumaas mula sa dating 111 barko na nairekord noong Nobyembre 13.
Ito ay matapos magpalabas si PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan kahapon, Disyembre 2, ng BRP Sindangan at BRP Cabra upang magpatrulya malapit sa reef na 169 nautical miles ang layo sa Palawan.
“No response was made to the radio challenges issued by the PCG to the CMM vessels which [are] now estimated to have grown (to) more than 135 vessels dispersed and scattered within Julian Felipe Reef,” sabi ng PCG said.
“The PCG maintains its unwavering commitment to safeguarding maritime security, safety, and the marine environment in the course of protecting the territorial integrity, sovereignty, sovereign rights, and jurisdiction of the Philippines in the West Philippine Sea,” pagtitityak ng PCG.
