SA pagbabalik-sesyon ng Kamara, mismong si Speaker Martin Romualdez ang nagbigay ng katiyakan ipagpapatuloy niya ang imbestigasyon hanggang sa maresolba ang mataas na presyo ng kuryente.
Bukod sa buwanang dagdag-singil na ipinapataw sa mga konsyumer, isasabay sa congressional inquiry ang ang hindi maawat sa presyo ng imported rice sa mga pamilihan.
“Tuloy ang imbestigasyon sa presyo ng bigas at kuryente. Hindi tayo aatras sa laban para sa bayan,” mariing pahayag ng pinuno ng 300-plus strong na House of Representatives.
“Good governance demands transparency and accountability. This chamber is the vanguard of that principle. In the coming weeks, we will hold oversight hearings to ensure that the people’s money serves the people’s needs,” dagdag ng House Speaker.
“We will investigate the smuggling and hoarding that undermines our farmers and inflates food prices. We will probe ₱206 billion in disallowed expenditures by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP), ensuring energy reforms that lower electricity costs,” wika ni Romualdez.
Samantala, tiniyak ni Romualdez na walang palalampasing bulilyaso ang Kongreso. Katunayan aniya, babalikan ng Kamara ang pagbusisi hinggil sa ₱11.18-bilyong halaga ng expired medicines at hindi paggamit ng PhilHealth sa daan-daang bilyong pondo.
Sa usapin ng kontrobersyal na confidential funds, hahabulin aniya ng Kongreso hanggang sa huling sentimo ang mga tinawag niyang tampalasang taong-gobyerno.
“And we will scrutinize the alleged misuse of confidential funds, for no peso must go unaccounted for,” ayon pa kay Romualdez.
“Let this be our promise – public trust is sacred, and this House will never betray it. Sa mga umaatake sa atin para tumigil tayo sa mga imbestigasyon, may mensahe tayo sa kanila… itutuloy natin ang trabahong iniatang sa atin ng mamamayan.
