KASABAY ng paghahayag ng kagalakan sa resulta ng survey kung saan lumalabas na 52 percent ng mga Pilipino ang sumusuporta sa layuning amyendahan ang 1987 Constitution, tiniyak ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin Romualdez ang determinasyon ng Kamara mapagtagumpayan ang isinusulong na economic reforms.
Ayon kay Speaker Romualdez na nasa likod ng 300-plus strong na House of Representatives, itinuturing niyang isang positibong tugon ang lumalawak na suporta ng mga mamamayang Pilipino, base na rin sa latest survey ng data research firm Tangere, sa pagnanais niyang mapabuti sa Saligang Batas partikular na ang amyenda sa restrictive economic provisions ng 1987 Constitution.
“We are determined to sustain this momentum and collaborate with all parties involved to realize the constitutional amendments that will pave the way for a more prosperous, just, and equitable future for the Philippines,” pahayag ng House Speaker.
“The approval for amending the Constitution, while slight, is nonetheless significant. It represents an evolving perspective among Filipinos, recognizing the potential benefits and the necessity of updating our nation’s charter to meet current and future challenges,” dugtong niya.
Ani Romualdez, sa pamamagitan ng Committee of the Whole, masusing tinalakay at nagsagawa ng malawak na deliberasyon ang Kamara kung saan kinuha at inalam nila ang panig ng mga dalubhasa at respetadong resource persons kung saan marami ang nagpahayag ng pagsang-ayon magkaroon ng economic charter reforms.
“These efforts affirm that our legislative process is aligned with the people’s evolving views and needs. These discussions have not only deepened our parliamentary debates but have also ensured that the push for constitutional reform is rooted in well-informed and comprehensive public discourse,” sabi pa ng Leyte lawmaker.
“Under my leadership, the House of Representatives remains committed to fostering an environment where all stakeholders can contribute to meaningful and productive discussions on potential changes to our Constitution,” garantiya ni Romualdez.
Samantala, sa panig ni House Majority Leader at Zamboanga City Rep. Manuel Jose “Mannix” Dalipe, sinabi niyang ikinalulugod ng House leadership ang resulta ng nabanggit na survey at ito’y patunay sa pagsang-ayon o nagsisilbing pag-endorso na rin ng mayorya ng mga Pilipino sa isinusulong nilang maamyendahan ang Konstitusyon.
“The survey results underscore the widespread recognition among Filipinos of the need for change and reform. It is encouraging to see that a majority of our citizens are in favor of Cha-cha, signaling a collective desire for progress and improvement,” ayon pa kay Dalipe.
Sa Tangere survey na isinapubliko noong Biyernes, lumalabas na 14 percent ng mga Pinoy ang “strongly agree,” habang 38 percent naman ang “somewhat agree” sa panukalang constitutional amendments.
Meron namang 13 percent ang nasa panig ng “somewhat disagree,” at 10 percent “strongly disagree” sa ChaCha initiatives kung saan ang 25 percent ang “undecided”.
Sinasabi rin sa survey na ito na 51 percent ng mga Pilipinos ang sumasang-ayon na dapat kilalanin pagkakaroon ng people’s initiative sa pagsusulong ng ChaCha. Ang survey ay mayroong margin of error na +/-2.53 percent, na may 95 percent confidence level.
Ginawa ang survey sa iba’t-ibang bahagi ng bansa kung saan 12 percent nito ay mula sa sa Metro Manila; 23 percent sa Northern Luzon; 22 percent naman sa Southern Luzon; 20 percent mula Visayas, at 23 percent naman ang sa Mindanao.
