PINURI ni Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez ang desisyon ni Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio na huwag nang ipilit na mapaglaanan ang dalawang tanggapan na pinamamahalaan nito ng kontrobersyal na confidential and intelligence sa ilalim ng 2024 national budget.
Sa ambush interview matapos maging panauhin sa flag-raising ceremony sa Batasan Complex kahapon ng umaga, hiningian ng reaksyon si Speaker Romualdez hinggil sa hindi na paghingi ng bise-presidente ng CIF para sa Office of the Vice-President (OVP) at Department of Education (DepEd), na pinamumunuan din ng huli. “I believe that’s the right decision; we hail VP Sara’s decision,” maikling tugon ng lider ng 300-plus strong na House of Representatives hinggil sa naturang isyu.
Natanong din si Romualdez na dahil sa ginawa na ito ni Carpio ay magiging mabuti na ang sigalot sa pagitan nila, ang sagot nito ay “always, always. I’m very very hopeful.” “We always work together, it’s still a UniTeam. The President always wants us to work together not just in Congress with the executive but as a country. So, we will always strive for that,” sabi pa ng Leyte province solon.
“As they always say, there will always be differences but we will always work towards resolving those differences for the service of the Filipino people, that’s our primordial concern. We will band together and unite as one for the service of the Filipino,” bigay-diin ni Romualdez.
