MATATAPOS na lang ang termino ng nakaupong Pangulo, pero hindi mapupuksa ng gobyerno ang operasyon ng illegal POGO. Ang dahilan — nasa loob mismo ng Palasyo ang protektor ng negosyong kumikita ng husto sa panggagantso.
Ayon kay Senador Risa Hontiveros, binabalewala di umano ng ilang opisyal ng Palasyo ang POGO ban sa ilalim ng Executive Order No. 74 ni nilagdaan ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Aniya, tinatago ng mga hindi tinukoy na Palace execs na pinalalabas na business process outsourcing (BPO) center ang mga illegal POGO.
“The information we got is that there are government officials who even advise them to – ‘Ah, just change your form,’ at least legally as simple BPOs, but hidden inside it are Pogo operations,” ani Hontiveros sa Kapihan sa Senado forum.
“No names were given to us. Just that phenomenon, that it’s happening… I am publicizing it now to serve as a warning, if that’s true. They know who they are. They must stop,” babala ng senador.
Sakali aniyang mapatunayan ang katotohanan sa likod ng confidential information, tiniyak ni Hontiveros na ilalantad sa imbestigasyon ng senado ang pangalan ng mga aniya’y protektor ng illegal POGO sa Palasyo.
“And if the regulators and members of the executive who are mandated to implement the law are the very ones violating the Pogo ban announced last State of the Nation Address and the Executive Order issued and, in principle, the law against Pogo that they plan to make, their accountability is heavier.”
