MATAPOS ang pagbibitiw sa pwesto ni Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez bilang lider ng Kamara, agad na iniluklok bilang ika-29 na House Speaker si Isabela 6th Dist. Rep. Faustino “Bojie” Dy III.
Sa mosyon ni Ilocos Norte 1st District Rep. Sandro Marcos na tumatayong House Majority Leader, binuksan ang nominasyon para sa posisyon ng speaker.
Kasunod naman ang pagtindig ni Quezon City 2nd District Rep. Wendell Tulfo para itulak si Dy bilang nominado sa posisyong binakante ni Romualdez. Dito na umeksena si Deputy Speaker at Isabela 1st Dist. Rep. Tonypet Albano na sumegunda sa nominasyon ni Dy.
“Madam presiding officer, there being no other nomination for the position of speaker of the House of Representatives, I move to close the table for nomination,” agad na susog ng House majority leader.
“There’s a motion to close the table for nomination for the position of speaker of the House of Representatives, there being no objection, the motion is carried,” ang tugon naman ni Deputy Speaker at Ilocos Sur 2nd Dist. Rep. Kristine Singson-Meehan na tumayong presiding presiding officer ng plenary session.
Dito na sinimulan ang roll call na hudyat ng botohan ng mga mambabatas. Subalit dahil wala naman katunggali sa pwesto, ganap na iniluklok si Dy bilang ika-29 na Speaker ng Kamara. (ROMEO ALLAN BUTUYAN II)
