“MAY resibo. May dokumento. May paper trail,” paglalarawan ng isang dating mambabatas sa tax records ni Vice President Sara Duterte at asawang Atty. Mans Carpio.
Sa isang pahayag, nanindigan si former Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers sa kahalagahan ng mga dokumentong isinumite kamakailan ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) sa Senate impeachment court.
“This ensures that the Impeachment Court can examine all relevant records in its search for the truth,” wika ni Barbers.
Ayon kay Barbers, hindi lang tax records ang mabubusisi kundi maging ang Statements of Assets, Liabilities and Net Worth (SALNs), bank records at Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) reports ng impeached vice president.
“Taken together, these documents complete the documentary trail. They will allow the Impeachment Court to determine whether the Vice President’s declared wealth is consistent with her income and financial transactions,” dagdag pa ni Barbers.
“Hindi ito usapin ng haka-haka o pulitika. Ang ebidensya ay nagmula sa mga opisyal na rekord ng gobyerno,” anang House prosecution adviser.
“Kapag pinagsama-sama ang tax records, bank records, AMLC reports at SALN, magkakaroon ang impeachment court ng malinaw na batayan sa pagpapasya. Iyan ang layunin ng due process—ang mailabas ang buong katotohanan batay sa dokumentadong ebidensya.”
