Pabrika ng pabango sinalakay ng BIR sa P604M utang sa buwis

SINALAKAY ng Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) ang pabrika at bodega ng pagawaan ng pabango at nasamsam ang may 390,000 bote mula sa 400 establisimyento at may P604.3 milyon halaga ng hindi binayarang buwis.

Sa pahayag, sinabi ng BIR na ang malawakang raid ay inilunsad noong Setyembre 27 at 28, 2023.

“Four hundred plus factories, warehouses, and stores containing 390,000+ bottles of perfume and toilet water were raided by the BIR for violating excise tax regulations. Big or small, every business has to comply with Excise Tax regulations,” sabi ni BIR Commissioner Romeo Lumagui Jr.

Sinabi pa ng BIR na ang manufacturer, importer, owner, o tao na may hawak ng produkto ay may kasalanan na rin dahil sa kawalan ng permit na mag-operate.
