ANG bawat ebidensya at testimonya sa mga pagdinig ng Kamara, bukas para sa pagsusuri ng publiko – maging sa International Criminal Court (ICC), ayon kay Surigao del Sur Rep. Robert Ace Barbers
Sa isang pulong-balitaan, partikular na tinukoy ni Barbers ang mga ebidensya at testimonyang nakalap ng House Committee on Dangerous Drugs sa pagdinig ng Kamara hinggil sa madugong giyera kontra droga ng nakalipas na administrasyon.
Ayon kay Barbers, walang dahilan para ipagkait sa ICC ang transcripts at live video recording na aniya’y posibleng gamitin sa kinakaharap na crimes against humanity ni former President Rodrigo Duterte.
“Records of such hearings would be out in the public. Anyone can use the transcript or maybe even records of the hearings,” sambit ng committee chair kaugnay ng ikinasang quad committee para sa isahang imbestigasyon sa usapin ng POGO, droga at human rights violations na naganap sa ilalim ng panunungkulan ni Duterte mula 2016 hanggang 2022.
“As to how they are going to use it, hindi namin sakop iyon. If the ICC would want to use this, it’s up to them kasi nga public record na ito. Kung makakatulong sa kanila o hindi, it is up to them,” dagdag pa ni Barbers.
Katunayan aniya, naka-livestream ang mga pagdinig na Kamara sa iba’t ibang social media platforms bilang bahagi ng polisiyang transparency na umiiral sa ilalim ng 19th Congress.
Sa panig ni House Committee on Human Rights Chairperson at Manila 6th Dist. Rep. Bienvenido “Benny” Abante, iginiit niyang makabubuting maresolba ang usapin ng ‘bloody war on drugs’ ng Duterte admin dito sa loob ng bansa.
“Our President has made it clear that we do not recognize the ICC in the Philippines right now. So it’s up to them to investigate, but I’m not going to allow the Committee on Human Rights to be used by the ICC for their own investigation,” pahayag naman ng Manila lawmaker.
Sa datos ng Philippine National Police (PNP), nasa 6,200 drug suspects ang nasawi sa anti-narcotics operations mula Hunyo 2016 hanggang noong Nobyembre 2021.
