PARA kay Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong, “dead-on-arrival” ang inihaing impeachment complaint laban kay Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
Ayon kay Adiong, na tumatayong chairman ng House Committee on Suffrage and Electoral Reforms, ang naturang reklamo ay “weak, unsupported by credible evidence, and unlikely to prosper in the House of Representatives.”
“Impeachment is the heaviest constitutional weapon available to Congress. It cannot—and must not—be wielded on the basis of recycled accusations, hearsay, or purely political grievances,” wika ni Adiong.
“In stark contrast, the accusations directed at President Marcos Jr. rely almost entirely on long-standing claims from vocal critics—claims that have already been repeatedly aired in public without producing new, verifiable evidence capable of withstanding constitutional muster,” dugtong ng mambabatas.
“There has been no House investigation, no subpoenaed documents, and no proof presented to support the allegations. This is politics dressed up as impeachment, and it will not succeed,” aniya pa.
