“We, the people of Albay, stand firm and united in our resolute rejection of privatizing the Albay Electric Cooperative or ALECO,” pambungad na pahayag ng ALPA.
“The predominant plan of takeover by the Manila Electric Company (Meralco) poses not only a betrayal of the ALECO owner-member-consumers, but a manipulative scheme of the politico-corporate exploits.”
“Surrendering ALECO to politico-corporate control is predisposed to amassing the welfare and proprietary utilization of its energy source, seizing the sovereign wealth of the Albayanos. “
“The Aleco privatization is unparalleled to achieve genuine empowerment, wherein massive expenses endured to be charged relentlessly to its owner-member-consumers.”
“ALECO’s transformation to becoming a true cooperative has only begun, to which the owner-member-consumers embrace the struggle. We affirm that owner-member-consumers be continuously catalyzed with capabilities, values, and practices to realize ALECO as a genuine peoples’ cooperative,” dugtong ng grupo.
“ALECO retains to serve the welfare of the Albayanos, a not-for-profit peoples’ cooperative, to be enslaved by a politico-corporate monopoly at the disposal of owner-member-consumers’ expense.”
